Responsibilities
The Morgan Library & Museum seeks a meticulous and collaborative person to assist with the project management, editing, and production of printed and electronic materials in the Publications Department. Responsibilities include copyediting, proofreading, and formatting of publications and exhibition didactics; contributing to project management, such as by updating schedules and communicating with stakeholders; and administrative duties as assigned, including but not limited to managing department calendars and databases, apply for cataloging-in-publication data, coordinating and reviewing exhibition-label deliveries, and handling book inventory, delivery, and mailing. Also responsible for editing and project managing smaller exhibitions and publications. This position reports to the editor.
- At least one to two years of editing experience, ideally in a museum or publishing setting
- Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in English, journalism, or a related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
- Proficient with Google, Microsoft, and Adobe products, particularly Acrobat/Reader and the Office suite
- Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and other references is desirable.
- Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation and lift moderately heavy boxes (10 lbs.)
Compensation
$58,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits plan.
