What This Role Actually Does
1. Design Large-Scale Learning Programmes
You create full learning programmes for tech skills (AI, Data Engineering, Product Management, etc.).
This includes deciding what people should learn, how they will learn it, and what the outcomes should be.
2. Work Closely With Senior Leaders & Subject Matter Experts
You gather requirements from Directors, Heads of Departments, SMEs, etc.
You turn their ideas and needs into structured learning content.
Strong stakeholder engagement is required — especially with senior-level people.
3. Build eLearning and Instructor-Led Content You develop:
eLearning modules
Classroom/virtual session outlines
Facilitator guides, learner handouts, assessments
Interactive activities and multimedia elements
(You do
not
deliver the classes; you design them.)
4. Work in an Agile, Fast-Paced Environment
Produce quick prototypes (“strawman drafts”).
Gather feedback.
Iterate and improve rapidly.
Constantly refine content for clarity, engagement, and relevance.
5. Create Learning Maps & Pathways
You take behavioural/competency schemas and turn them into: learning maps personalised learner pathways structured progression for roles
This is very strategic — more learning architecture, less content writing.
6. Design Hybrid & Blended Learning Models
Mix self-paced learning (videos, eLearning)
With live learning (virtual/in-person sessions)
Develop flipped classroom approaches (learners study basics first, then attend applied sessions)
7. Manage Vendors When Needed
Know when external vendors are needed (eLearning vendors, content studios).
Evaluate, quality-check, and manage their deliverables.
8. Measure & Improve Learning Effectiveness
Review learner feedback and performance data.
Identify gaps.
Continuously refine materials and programme flow.
Stay updated on new learning tools and technologies.
