The SMM is responsible for reducing reliance on paid search to produce a cost‑efficient lead‑generation model and overseeing our external paid search agency to ensure alignment, accurate reporting, and overall SEM performance. Success is measured by improved lead quality, increased close rate from organic search, improved organic rankings for priority keywords, growth in high‑intent traffic that converts, and steady reduction in dependency on paid search.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead all SEO strategy and execution, including technical SEO, on‑page optimization, schema, content recommendations, site structure, and link‑building oversight.
Optimize for AI‑driven search results (Google SGE, Bing Copilot Search, Perplexity, and other generative search systems).
Create structured content tailored for conversational and generative AI summaries.
Implement entity‑based SEO and schema markup to improve visibility in AI answer models.
Build content and FAQs that align with natural‑language query structures powering AI search.
Ensure content consistently appears in AI‑generated summaries, answer boxes, and conversational search results.
Increase entity recognition (brand, products, service areas) across AI search engines.
Conduct keyword and topic research using traditional and AI‑assisted tools to identify growth opportunities.
Perform regular SEO audits to identify technical issues and collaborate with developers for fixes.
Analyze organic search performance using analytics platforms and provide clear insights and recommendations.
Partner with content creators to build SEO‑forward content that performs in both classic and AI search formats.
Oversee and manage all directories.
Update landing pages and collaborate on UX improvements with creative and dev teams.
Run CRO tests on copy, layout, forms, CTAs, and user flow.
Recommend improvements for site speed, mobile experience, form completion, and trust elements.
Collaborate with the external Paid Search agency.
Synchronize SEO & SEM strategies (keyword coverage, landing pages, insights sharing).
Review PPC performance, strategy, spending efficiency, and reporting to ensure alignment with company goals.
Validate tracking accuracy, audience segmentation, and landing page alignment.
Own analytics and reporting across SEO, paid search, email, and conversion funnels.
Maintain dashboards and produce weekly performance reports.
Set up and validate GA4 events, UTMs, pixels, and CRM tracking.
Identify anomalies in lead flow or attribution and resolve quickly.
Partner with Social Media & Digital Strategy Coordinators to align offers, timing, and messaging.
Work with marketing leadership to review lead quality, close rate, and feedback loops.
Coordinate with agencies, vendors, and lead providers to ensure performance transparency.
Collaborate with Creative to produce assets that support funnel optimization.
Ensure all content complies with advertising regulations for home improvement.
Review all campaign content (including AI‑generated) for accuracy and clarity.
Maintain consistent brand voice across all digital channels.
Maintain an environment that embodies the company’s mission, vision, and values.
Remain compliant and up‑to‑date on all company‑wide live and digital training.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience optimizing for AI‑driven and SGE‑style search results.
Deep understanding of search algorithms, ranking factors, and AI‑driven search frameworks.
Experience with entity SEO, Knowledge Graph optimization, and schema automation.

Working knowledge of paid search fundamentals (keyword strategy, bidding models, conversion tracking).
Demonstrated experience building high‑performing landing pages and funnels.
