Design, develop, and deploy web applications.
Implement new features and enhancements.
Conduct unit testing to ensure code quality.
Review and contribute to technical designs.
Ensure applications meet all functional specifications and performance requirements.
Scope of Work:
The scope of work is to support Virginia Tax’s web application portfolio, including modern and legacy systems, focusing on modifying, enhancing, and maintaining existing applications while integrating a new system. Key responsibilities involve implementing feature requests, bug fixes, and performance improvements. The developer will leverage Angular for front‑end modifications and REST API (Java equivalent) expertise for back‑end service integration. Significant work includes analyzing and safely modifying legacy codebases, developing services to integrate with the new system, creating robust unit tests, and collaborating closely with BSAs and QA teams to ensure all changes meet technical specifications and business needs.
Required / Desired
Angular or React expertise: professional experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications.
API Development: Build and consume RESTful APIs (or equivalent experience in Java/Spring/Boo).
Database Proficiency: SQL development, complex queries, basic query optimization.
Full Dev Lifecycle: strong understanding of SDLC and modern dev methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
Version Control: proficiency with Git and modern workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).
Problem‑Solving: excellent analytical and debugging skills.
Prior Tax or financial technology work experience.
