Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with key retail partners; prior experience with off-price/value retailers is strongly preferred.
Maintain clear, timely communication with factories and external partners to support on-time sample and production delivery.
Fit & Sample Management
Review, measure, and evaluate all fit, proto, and pre-production samples to ensure adherence to fit and construction standards before customer submission.
Lead internal fit sessions and participate in remote fittings with clients (e.g., Zoom) as required.
Generate clear, concise fit comments and issue them to factories within required timelines.
Track sample status weekly with internal teams and factories to ensure on-time approvals and proactively flag risks.
Technical Development & Specification
Create and maintain detailed Points of Measure (POMs) for all styles and communicate them effectively to pattern makers.
Partner with graders and complete garment specifications within GBP (or comparable software), ensuring all size ranges are accurate and consistent.
Build complete and accurate tech packs, including construction details, stitch types, seam allowances, finishing details, and bill of materials prior to factory release.
Release final patterns, specifications, pattern cards, sewing construction details, trims, and label placement instructions to factories.
Quality, Process & Problem Solving
Identify and address issues impacting garment fit, construction, or production timelines, proposing practical solutions and process improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure adherence to brand standards, cost targets, and milestone dates.
Escalate any critical issues or delays within the approval process to the SVP of Technical Design in a timely, proactive manner.
Support, coach, and mentor junior technical design team members as needed.
Qualifications
Extensive technical design experience within the apparel industry, preferably in women’s Missy and Plus size categories; Missy and Plus fit expertise is highly valued.
Demonstrated experience working with major off-price/value retailers
Deep understanding of patternmaking, grading, garment construction, and fit standards.
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple styles, categories, and deadlines simultaneously.
Experience collaborating with overseas factories and familiarity with production timelines and manufacturing constraints.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, and GBP or similar spec/grading software.
