Job Title: Technical Writer and Video Content Creator
Job location: Bellevue, WA

Job Duration: 3 months, Contract to Hire

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and knowledge base articles.
  • Create instructional and explainer videos to complement written documentation, including screen recordings, voiceovers, and animations.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand product functionality.
  • Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
  • Organize documentation in structured formats (e.g., Markdown, HTML, Confluence).
  • Ensure all content aligns with branding, accessibility, and compliance standards.
  • Participate in product demos and technical reviews to stay updated on changes.
  • Design diagrams, flowcharts, and visuals to support both written and video content.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, Multimedia, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in software or IT domains.
  • Strong understanding of technology concepts (e.g., APIs, cloud infrastructure, DevOps).
  • Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., MS Word, Confluence, MadCap Flare, Git).
  • Experience with video creation tools (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Mandatory Skills:
  • Technical document writing

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with Markdown, HTML, XML, or scripting languages.
  • Exposure to tools like JIRA, GitHub, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Basic understanding of Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or automation tools.
  • Experience in creating accessible content for diverse audiences.
