Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Proposal Writer to join the Corporate team focused on opportunities to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). In this role, you will coordinate proposal efforts for DoD and federal contracts while also playing a key role in capture, business development, and pipeline management. This is a high‑impact role that requires strong technical writing skills, organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of the federal procurement process.
This is a full‑time position located at the Beavercreek, Ohio, corporate office, with up to 50 % telework flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead ASTRA proposal writing, ensuring quality product development.
- Collaborate with Proposal and Growth Team leadership to promote best practices and refine proposal writing processes.
- Support the development of RFI/RFP responses.
- Plan, facilitate, and execute Writers on Worksite (WOW) and other sessions with Operations Team leadership.
- Update and maintain Past Performance repository with Growth Team.
- Author all sections of a solicitation (Management, Technical, Past Performance/Corporate Experience, and Resumes).
- Conduct technical edits of others’ work.
- Participate as an author and reviewer in design sessions, working sessions, and color reviews, providing critical feedback and accepting critiques to improve responses.
- Create compliant, responsive, and compelling documents for Government solicitations, including white papers, sources sought, RFIs, and RFPs, with minimal guidance.
- Collaborate with proposal team members—proposal manager, capture manager, graphic artist—to design a compliant and compelling proposal solution, outline, and response.
- Collaborate with operations team members, project managers, and SMEs; actively participate in the overall solutioning process.
- Extract information from SMEs across technical subjects, interview, compile, and analyze data calls and material to produce cohesive technical responses.
- Analyze and extract requirements from RFPs and other solicitation documents such as PWS, SOW, and SLA to ensure compliance.
- Creatively connect Apogee’s past experience with new approaches to address customer requirements or hot buttons.
- Act as a volume lead, assign deadlines, review work, and be responsible for the overall content submitted by other authors.
- Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval while coordinating requirements with contributors.
- Maintain quality results using templates and proposal‑writing standards, including readability, consistency, and tone.
- Improve proposal‑writing results by evaluating and re‑designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate information, implementing improvements in future efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
Citizenship: US citizen.
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top‑Secret level clearance.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: Twelve (12) or more years of experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, and/or other Government agency proposal efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
Certifications: APMP Foundation‑level certification or understanding and experience applying Shipley methodology to proposal writing (highly preferred).

Additional Information
Location: Beavercreek, Ohio, corporate office.
Hybrid: Allows telework up to 50%.
Travel: 10% CONUS travel may be required.
Pay Range: USD $85,000.00 – USD $105,000.00 per year.
