Description

The Video Production Coordinator (Part‑Time) supports departmental media production needs through event capture, technical support, and editing for institutional initiatives. This role works closely with the Senior Manager of Film Production and AV Media Classroom Manager to manage editing timelines and project schedules, and reports to the Senior Director of Enrollment, Communications & Engagement. In addition to Video Production responsibilities, this position can also function as a Film Production Project Lead when needed, helping to coordinate and produce Film Production projects. The role requires flexibility, technical proficiency, and strong collaboration skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Film and edit content for a variety of events and initiatives, including:
  • AMDA NY Performances
  • Marketing B‑Roll
  • Open House Events
  • Graduation Ceremony Capture & Support
  • Special Events
  • Extension Program Projects
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Film Production and Senior Director of Enrollment, Communications & Engagement to coordinate event staff coverage, budget, and editing deliverables.
  • Maintain media files, organize footage, and ensure timely post‑production delivery.
  • Communicate technical requirements for support of video shoots, including needed staffing, equipment, set‑up times, audio recording, and lighting.
  • Serve in production roles including:
  • Cinematographer
  • Location Sound Mixer
  • Producer
  • Supervise student and/or staff crews on set

Post-Production Responsibilities

  • Log and sync footage
  • Editing (multiple drafts with notes from supervisors)
  • Titles and credits
  • Color correction and audio mixing
  • Final quality control prior to final delivery
  • Edit footage from classroom activities and campus performances as needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in video production, editing, or film instruction.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and audio/video equipment.
  • Strong on‑set production knowledge, including cinematography and sound.
  • Experience working with students or emerging filmmakers in a mentorship or instructional capacity.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects with competing timelines.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Bachelor's degree in film production, Media Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional film or media production experience.
  • Experience in camera operation, lighting, sound, and editing (Adobe Premiere Pro or similar).

Position Information

  • The regular schedule for this role is during the weekday and daytime hours, 20-29 hours per week, subject to change based on department needs.
  • The pay range for this position is $33-$35 per hour.
  • This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check.
