Purpose
As Dell Medical School embarks on the next chapter of its evolution — building an integrated academic health system — the Digital Content Producer plays a key role in how the institution engages audiences. Reporting to the Director of Digital Engagement, this position supports the creation, publication and optimization of content that strengthens visibility, reputation and engagement across Dell Medical School and UT Health Austin digital channels. The Digital Content Producer collaborates closely with colleagues across Marketing and Communications to plan, produce and maintain high-quality multimedia, web and email content that aligns with institutional goals and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Produce, edit, and publish content for web, email and other digital platforms to ensure clarity, accessibility and alignment with institutional priorities.
- Edit and refine content submissions for structure, clarity and tone, providing both developmental and copyediting support to ensure alignment with brand voice and editorial standards.
- Manage editorial calendars for digital content, ensuring timely updates and consistency across platforms.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and optimization of Dell Medical School and UT Health Austin websites using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Apply SEO and accessibility best practices to improve user experience and search visibility.
- Collaborate with the Director of Digital Engagement and platform administrators to implement content governance and quality control standards.
- Stay informed of emerging marketing and communications technologies, with a focus on identifying tools and trends that support strategic goals.
- Proactively evaluate and apply new platforms, systems and innovations — including generative AI and automation — to enhance content strategy, audience engagement, and team workflows.
Email & Digital Campaign Support
- Develop and publish email newsletters and digital communications using CRM and marketing automation tools.
- Support campaign execution, testing and performance tracking in alignment with digital engagement strategies.
- Assist in segmenting and targeting audiences to improve message relevance and impact.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years of experience producing and managing content for digital platforms such as websites, email campaigns, or multimedia storytelling channels.
- Demonstrated proficiency with web content management systems (preferably Adobe Experience Manager or a similar enterprise CMS).
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Working knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO), web accessibility standards, and user experience principles.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including writers, designers, developers, and communications professionals.
- Familiarity with digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4 or Adobe Analytics for tracking and reporting performance metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of professional experience in digital content strategy, production, or communications, ideally within higher education, health care, or mission-driven organizations.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including template management, tagging, and content governance workflows.
- Experience with marketing automation or customer relationship management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce, Slate, or similar platforms).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 or higher) and inclusive design practices for digital communications.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in digital marketing and communications, including automation tools and generative AI.
Salary Range
$62,700 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility

Retirement Plan Eligibility
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
