We seek a colleague with a professional track record in the creation and development of original short‑form content aimed at engaging young people through social activism, entertainment, brand building, and digital audience engagement across leading platforms and social media ecosystems.
Qualified applicants will be distinguished practitioners with a passion for teaching and a strong body of produced original IP—including short‑form and micro‑content—that sparks interaction and drives action. A background in visually compelling, character‑driven, or experimental storytelling is encouraged.
Qualifications and Desired Expertise
- Fluency in influencer and creator trends, short‑form video ecosystems (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat), and dynamic viral formats and platform algorithms.
- Expertise in vertical video production, mobile‑first marketing, and platform analytics (A/B testing, engagement metrics, niche audience strategies).
- Knowledge of emerging tools such as AI‑assisted editing, creator platform dashboards, and transmedia storytelling approaches.
- Evidence of a significant body of original short‑form content that encourages interaction and action.
- Advanced degree at the university level (preferred).
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach three courses per semester at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Provide hands‑on guidance to students in creative processes, encouraging innovation, design awareness, and critical thinking.
- Possibly teach existing production courses at introductory and intermediate levels.
- Develop new courses in vertical filmmaking and digital media as appropriate.
Service and Development
Contribute to the department’s evolving curriculum, engage in committee work, and support the community of teachers and researchers through excellence in innovative scholarship and participation in the intellectual life of the university.
