The Hoover Institution at Stanford University is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Digital, Social Media, & Influencer Strategist. Location: Hoover Institution, Stanford, California, United States. Requisition #106645 JOB PURPOSE: The Hoover Institution is seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital, Social Media, & Influencer Strategist to enhance our online presence and engage with multiple audiences. Core Duties Develop and execute external influencer strategy to build the Hoover brand and disseminate the ideas of its scholars with target audiences. Optimize Hoover’s presence and proactive audience engagement on relevant social media platforms. Optimize Hoover’s owned digital platforms, including the Hoover.org website, Substack, and multimedia hubs. Responsible for ownership and management of multiple digital channels. Oversee editorial and brand strategy and voice (of the content through the channels). Liaise with internal stakeholders such as program teams, service teams, IT, campus partners to achieve program goals and to ensure coordination. Interact with other departments, organizations and senior staff. Influencer Strategy Responsibilities Influencer Identification: Research and identify potential influencers whose audiences align with the Hoover Institution's mission and values. Campaign Development: Design and execute influencer marketing campaigns that effectively promote the Institution's research, events, and initiatives. Content Oversight: Guide influencers in creating content that aligns with the Institution's brand and messaging, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Performance Analysis: Work with performance analytics team to evaluate the success of influencer partnerships through metrics such as engagement, reach, and conversions, and adjust strategies accordingly. Social Strategy Responsibilities Social Media Strategy Development: Design and implement social media strategies that align with the Institution's objectives, enhancing brand awareness and audience engagement working with our social media community manager. Content Calendar Management: Develop and manage a content calendar in partnership with our social media community manager to ensure consistent and timely posting across all social media platforms. Audience Analysis: Conduct research to identify and understand target audience demographics, preferences, and behaviors to inform content creation and engagement strategies. Platform Management: Oversee the Institution's presence on various social media platforms, ensuring content is tailored to platform-specific audiences and best practices. Engagement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to increase audience engagement. Digital Strategy Responsibilities Digital Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with the Institution's goals, enhancing brand awareness and driving engagement. Performance Analysis: Work with performance analytics team to assess the performance of digital campaigns, interpret data to gain insights, and adjust strategies to optimize results. Web Strategy Development: Assist the web team with the creation and implementation of a comprehensive web strategy that aligns with the Institution's objectives, ensuring an effective online presence. Content Integration: Ensure seamless integration of content across the website, aligning with digital marketing and social media efforts. Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about emerging digital trends and technologies to ensure the Hoover Institution remains at the forefront of digital engagement. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the web, technology, social platforms, current and future trends. Excellent writing and analytical skills. Strong strategic outlook and ability to leverage current and future trends to help an organization succeed at the broadest level, across groups, teams or units. Subject matter expertise in digital community development. Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with senior staff and other members of the academic community. Experience leading highly-functioning teams. Preferred/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities SEO & SEM proficiency: Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) strategies to enhance digital reach and discoverability. Paid Social & Digital Advertising: Experience managing paid social media campaigns and digital advertising strategies, including audience targeting and performance optimization. Analytics & Performance Measurement: Proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, etc.) to assess digital and social media performance and inform strategy. Multimedia Content Strategy: Understanding of video, podcasting, and other multimedia formats, including best practices for engagement and distribution. Influencer & Partnership Negotiation: Strong skills in influencer outreach, contract negotiation, and relationship management to build strategic alliances. Physical Requirements Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks. Frequently sitting. Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl. Working Conditions Occasional work on evenings and weekends. Pay The expected pay range for this position is $134,164 - $154,529 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
