Remote/Virtual Position: No
Coverage Area: South Dade County
Salary: $55,000-75,000 plus mileage
Schedule: Monday-Friday plus on call rotation

What You Need To Know
Be the Best Hospice Music Therapist You Can Be
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and/or a Music Therapy degree from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved university (or undergraduate equivalency program approved by AMTA).
- Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT).
- Previous experience with terminally ill patients/families is highly desirable.
- Must have a reliable automobile, valid driver’s license, and the minimum state‑required liability auto insurance.
Responsibilities
- Complete the music therapy assessment with patient and family when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Plan music therapy interventions.
- Guide the patient in the use of creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical function and quality of life.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with the patient and/or family of choice.
- Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested and determined appropriate by therapist.
- Serve as the counselor at interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings, participate in on‑call rotation, and assist with sign‑ups and consents for newly referred patients.
- Support the bereavement program at the site level.
Required Certifications and Licensures
- Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT).
- Must be a licensed driver who can travel to all business locations.
