The Remote Video Monitor Technician (RVMT) is responsible for providing constant patient observation and monitoring of high‑risk patients. The technician must be able to clearly see all patients for whom the team member is responsible at all times, verbally redirect patients from engaging in risk behaviors, and notify the unit nursing team via communication devices or alarms when immediate assistance is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding and proficiency of electronic systems for the role of Remote Video Monitoring.
  • Identify variances and initiate follow‑up actions.
  • Document patient data and maintain accurate records.
  • Serve in a supportive roving tech role to continually maintain patient and team safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department head.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • Experience: No experience required; relevant experience preferred; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Licensure: Certified Nurse Aid in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. Student nurses who have completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course are exempt. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

  • Position Type: Full‑time
  • Compensation: $15.37 - $23.82 hourly
  • Work Location: Remote (video monitoring station)
  • Physical Requirements: Sitting for prolonged periods, frequent bending, stooping, reaching overhead, and exposure to fumes, chemicals, and cold.
  • Essential skills: Proficient communication, auditory and visual abilities, attention to detail, and clear legible writing.
