About the Opportunity:
Our client, a leader in AI technology, is looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join their team for a 3‑month contract to hire engagement. This project involves defining the voice and structure of critical customer‑facing content for their innovative product vision and architecting scalable documentation solutions. This is a high‑impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Lead technical writing activities: Lead technical writing activities for critical customer‑facing product content, including hardware and software documentation such as data sheets, user guides, API documentation, release notes, and product briefs.
- Drive content strategy: Drive content strategy, governance, and quality standards across all documentation outputs, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with the product vision.
- Architect and manage pipelines: Architect and manage authoring and publishing pipelines utilizing a DITA XML‑based structured authoring environment and Git‑based repositories.
- Define information architecture: Define and maintain scalable information architecture, metadata frameworks, and content models to optimize content reuse and simplify complexity.
- Pioneer AI tool use: Pioneer the use of AI tools within the documentation lifecycle to accelerate content generation and partner with IT to pilot and scale AI‑enabled authoring workflows.
Required Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Deep expertise in DITA XML‑based structured authoring and Git‑based repositories. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Experience with content strategy, information architecture, and documentation process evolution.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
