Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documents, policies, standards, and operating procedures.
- Gather and analyze technical information to document new or updated functionality.
- Write, format, edit, and proof content for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Assist in planning and tracking documentation deliverables to meet deadlines.
- Develop content for websites, reports, metrics, training materials, and communication pieces.
Summary
This role focuses on Policy Planning and Design and supports the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, procedures, and related documentation. The Technical Writer will work closely with management, technical staff, and subject‑matter experts to create clear, user‑friendly content that aligns with city guidelines and legal requirements.

Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be local and available for in‑person interviews within one week of posting close date.
- Must be able to start within two weeks of an offer.
Compensation
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
