Marketing Director – Japan
Purpose
Manage the marketing function within a country, develop and implement marketing efforts to ensure Givaudan's leading position within the country, according to overall business objectives and regional/global marketing strategy.
Core Responsibilities
Drive the development of Market Strategy
Define business development opportunities and specific needs through engagement with sales and Business unit
Develop and implement Japan Strategies in partnership with local and regional technical teams
Commercialise innovations and products through ensuring country and customer relevance for country opportunities as defined in the marketing plan (year marketing calendar)
Direct and execute marketing efforts to target customers
Propose potential targets and build business case
Ensure development and delivery of differentiated marketing programs and ensure adapted to Japan
Own the opportunity pipeline of respective
Lead commercialisation of global-regional strategic big-investment products and technologies
Play an active role in planning, ensuring sales buy in and securing the required technical support
Ensure appropriate commercial resources are prepared to execute business development with targeted customers
Provide country pricing guidelines for global strategic investment products/technologies in coordination with segments
Help deliver assigned financial targets (sales, gross margin)
Participate in Sales budgeting and in Annual Account Development Plan processes
Implement the segment pricing strategy (including category guidelines on margins)
Lead, train, develop & manage local marketing staff
Actively recruit skilled staff and build a culture of teamwork and collaboration to ensure AGI process, market expertise and differentiation to/for target customers
Conduct ongoing performance evaluations and develop discussions to create a high performing culture
Academic Background
Bachelor/ Master degree in Marketing, Food technology, Business Administration or related areas
Professional Experience
Over 10 years of overall work experience
At least 5 to 7 years of Marketing/Technical experience, including marketing strategy
Previous experience in a multi-national environment preferably in the relevant region
Technical Skills
Proficient in English, other relevant language advantageous
Sales or B2B Marketing knowledge with a strong know how of B2C Marketing in an international environment
Solid understanding of marketing strategy and principles including brand execution, commercialisation of new products, and creative promotions
Ability to plan actively, ensuring sales buy in and securing the required technical support
Ability to analyse and develop local pricing guidelines for global strategic investment products/technologies in coordination with segments
Strong project management and leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication ability and presentation skills
