Gardner-Webb University invites applications for a Visual/Instrumental Instructor. We are seeking an individual with prior knowledge and experience working with students in marching band. Individual will work closely with the Director of Athletic Bands to design a visual and musical program. Drill writing, arranging and composing are also possibilities with this position dependent upon individual's strengths. This is a temporary, part-time position that is scheduled to end in December 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to run sectionals, drill learning process and ensemble if needed.
- Familiarity of Pyware software to write drill and Ultimate Drill Book (UDB) app in order to teach the drill.
- Ability to attend band camp, all rehearsals, football games, tournament games and other events planned throughout the year as needed by the Director.
- Position requires a music undergraduate degree, prior knowledge and experience in working with students in marching band.
- Must have instrumental and woodwind experience.
- Individual should be a strong leader in music and the marching arts with excellent skills in marching, and performance.
- Must have extensive experience in the marching arts (DCI, WGI, or collegiate marching band.)
