Description Join Pipeworks Studios as a Game Designer I (UI Implementation). You will help build interfaces for an upcoming AAA project. In this role, you’ll work closely with UX/UI, art, and engineering partners to translate mockups into clean, functional, and visually polished in-game screens. You’ll contribute to layout, logic, and flow using proprietary tools while collaborating across disciplines to ensure clarity and consistency throughout the player experience.
Our studio is based in Eugene, Oregon, with flexibility for remote, hybrid, or in-office work.
Key Responsibilities
Implement UI layouts, flows, and interactions based on provided UX mockups.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to iterate on wireframes, interactions, and player experience.
Work with artists to ensure visual clarity and consistency across screens.
Integrate components and templates in partnership with engineering.
Maintain clean logic, naming, structure, and template usage across UI screens.
Support adoption of consistent UI patterns across the project.
Participate in playtests and iterate based on cross‑disciplinary feedback.
Contribute clear documentation and maintain reliable task tracking.
Build, tune, and maintain assigned content or features in‑engine with guidance.
Collaborate effectively with team members across disciplines.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience building UI in game engines or similar visual tools.
Strong eye for detail, layout, clarity, and usability.
Ability to reason about UI flow, simple logic, and interactive states.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and standard documentation tools.
Solid organization and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Must Haves
2–3 years of relevant game design or UI implementation experience, or equivalent.
Portfolio or samples demonstrating UI implementation preferred.
Nice to haves
Familiarity with Unity or Unreal preferred.
