Role Description Arcadis is seeking an Architectural and Engineering Senior Design Manager with deep experience in aerospace projects to join our Design Management team within the North America Places group. This hybrid role requires an experienced candidate from the Los Angeles area to best serve our client base.
Our team is growing and we are expanding skilled Design Managers throughout North America. We work with clients worldwide to create, support, and enhance smart, safe, and sustainable places where people live, work, learn, and thrive—across a broad portfolio that includes industrial, logistics, transportation, infrastructure, and aerospace & aviation projects.
Accountabilities
Coordinate with internal and external architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress.
Quickly understand specified project scopes and develop execution plans for a variety of design and engineering service deliveries.
Spearhead strategic pursuits, create winning delivery strategies, and develop fee projections to achieve financial targets while shaping the most advantageous delivery approach.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Effectively deliver client presentations, prepare written reports, and communicate technical concepts, particularly around scoping, requirements, and risk.
Take responsibility for financial and project management controls, monitoring, modification, and forecasting as appropriate.
Manage the acquisition, deployment, and optimisation of resources for the project.
Drive timely service delivery, including technical and commercial outcomes, and conduct reviews to ensure delivery exceeds client expectations.
Implement design delivery best practices, including risk and change management, project set‑up, and planning, using internal and external digital technologies.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of relevant experience leading large multi‑disciplinary teams.
Proven financial background related to project and client management.
Experience working with projects that utilise fundamental knowledge of Autodesk Platforms such as ACC or BIM.
BA in Architecture or Engineering‑related fields focused on the built environment.
Preferred certifications: PE, RA, PMP.
Practical sustainability experience.
Obtain CPM certification status within 30 days of hire (training provided by Arcadis).
Benefits The salary range for this position is $109,186 – $185,616, with actual salaries based on experience, education, budget, and location. Full‑time positions include medical, dental, and vision; EAP; 401(k); STD, LTD, AD&D, and life insurance; paid parental leave; reward & recognition program; optional benefits such as well‑being services, adoption assistance, and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
