Qualifications The Senior Event Planning Manager’s primary focus is servicing sales bookings, acting as liaison between meeting planners, social and marketing clients, and hotel staff. Responsibilities include administering sales agreements, detailing food, beverage and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pickup, billing instructions and final review. The Senior Event Planning Manager and EPM are on-site contacts responsible for the smooth execution of all events.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Leadership responsibility overseeing the Event Planning Manager.

Responsible for short- and long-term planning and management of event sales and event planning.

Develop and recommend budgets, marketing plans and objectives and manage within approved plans.

Maintain or exceed budgeted sales and profits in all event areas.

Develop and implement effective marketing plans for generating catering revenues.

Evaluate each piece of event business to ensure it meets guest expectations.

Create innovative menus in collaboration with Culinary.

Work closely with Chef on pricing specialty menus.

Train, supervise, and work with event staff to book banquet and event functions and execute them.

Run weekly Resume, EO, and Group Pick-up meetings.

Collaborate with Director of Banquets to ensure daily quality standards and enhance banquet set‑ups.

Lead event team to build long‑term, value‑based customer relationships to achieve hotel event sales objectives.

Administer all phases of the event department: sales, planning, marketing, servicing, and administrative procedures.

Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.

Refined verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum 3‑5 years of hotel event planning or comparable experience preferred.

Proficient in general computer knowledge.

Detail oriented, organized, and able to handle a fast‑paced environment.

Prefer 6 years hotel experience or completed event management trainee program.

Strong leadership skills; supervising the EPM.

Ability to multitask and highly organized.

Proficiency in various event software.
