Architectural Designer wanted in NY, NY to apply both a theoretical and practical knowledge in the highly sophisticated disciplines of design and architecture. Make recommendations based on functionality, physical requirements, aesthetics and other design and construction related factors. Assist the principal architects in developing scopes of works and establishing the design framework of projects. Contribute to detailed preparation of design and construction documents, preparing architectural plans, drawings and layouts. Coordinate design and details and schedules. Perform drafting and presentation work using 3D modeling/rendering by software such as AutoCAD, 3D Max, Rhinoceros, Adobe Photoshop and similar media within established timeframe. Make physical models. Research technical systems, adhere to procedures and determine instructions to be followed according to design specifications as well as material research and coordination of project specifications. Coordinate design and details with various trades, make recommendations and appropriate value judgments with respect to field corrective work that supports the design concepts and performance goal of the project as well as incorporates knowledge of properties and utilization materials, spatial principals and integration of interior design perspectives and structural design. Assess and record field conditions, apply drafting and CADD skills and understanding of building design concepts and techniques in providing the team with excellent renderings, drawings and models for use in developing design concepts and client presentations. Use design philosophy and architectural concepts from an analytical and historical context. Provide input in developing design strategies involving properties and utilization of materials using knowledge of major disciplines within the field of architecture, contemporary architectural theory, drawing, structural and aesthetics. Apply knowledge of spatial principles, structural design and interior design in preparing architectural plans and drawings taking into account project specifications and review of local, state and federal codes, standard and regulations. Assist principals in developing scope of works and assessing and recording field conditions. Use knowledge of building design concept and practical knowledge of building materials, detailing and construction techniques, assist principals in coordinating details and schedules, participate in selective shop drawings and sample review and developing responses to questions, inquiries and RFI's under periodic supervision of Principal Architect. Apply theoretical and practical knowledge in design and architecture and make recommendations based on functionality, physical and site requirements, environmental rules and regulations, safety issues and other design and construction related factors. Master’s degree in Architecture plus 1 year of experience in job offered. Salary: $80,500.
