Job Summary:
A dedicated, dynamic and seasoned director of digital marketing is needed for the Disney Entertainment marketing team to oversee all aspects of the Marvel Brand, the Marvel theatrical film and Disney+ film and series global campaigns, and additional brand and title work. This is a fast‑paced, multi‑faced position that requires creativity, improvisation, organization and communication at a very high level. The position requires some non‑traditional working hours (early morning, evening, weekends), light travel and on‑field level work at events, including premieres, conventions, screenings, set visits, junkets and content days.
Responsibilities
Work with the SVP to develop and implement a strategic strategy for the Marvel brand on all digital platforms, including company‑owned social communities.
Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders within cross lines of business that collaborate with the Marvel brand.
Ensure allocation targets are being met across all necessary internal partners.
Maintain a consistent, deep understanding of performance data across the suite of Marvel social and digital accounts to optimize performance.
Host constructive creative discussions with xLOBs to improve social performance.
Collaborate with other title teams under the SVP to implement brand strategy for additional Marvel theatrical or streaming titles.
Implement new and evolving xLOB partnerships into the Marvel brand as dictated by internal partners.
Work with the SVP to establish and implement a comprehensive and inclusive digital campaign strategy on a film/series by film/series basis.
Work with agencies and internal departments to research, ideate, design and build world‑class 360 interactive campaigns in support of theatrical and streaming releases.
Develop, implement, execute and present campaign plans to internal and external stakeholders including studio leads, filmmakers and talent teams.
Manage the project lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects, defining and tailoring the processes based on the team and project needs.
Collaborate with internal media team, external media agencies, creative vendors and/or third‑party editorial and digital platform partners on integrated programs including social gaming, portal experiences, product launches and breakthrough programs on innovative platforms from development through production.
Establish key performance metrics on title content and campaign beats and provide regular progress reports, sentiment evaluation and track budgets.
Identify and coordinate cross‑departmental dependencies to ensure projects move smoothly and obstacles are identified and appraised proactively.
Identify key trends, tools, technologies and ongoing market intelligence in the social/interactive/mobile space.
Coordinate site launches and/or traffic‑driving events with internal/external partners.
Oversee relationship and campaign development with internal global markets and stakeholders.
Develop with the SVP campaign filmmaker decks and present to internal key stakeholders.
Manage team managers and sr. manager(s).
Basic Qualifications
10+ years’ relevant experience.
Significant experience with the Marvel brand.
Outstanding communication skills, written and oral.
Candidate must demonstrate exceptional working knowledge & emerging media and new technology platforms.
Demonstrated ability to work with others, both in a supervisory role and as a collaborative team player.
Excellent presentation, organizational, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
A passionate expertise in Social, Mobile and Digital marketing.
Creative sensibility a must.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $153,200 to $205,400 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The number of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
