Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting a Senior Event Planning Manager to join our team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 64 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Qualifications The Senior Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sales bookings. This position acts as the liaison between Meeting Planners, Social and Marketing clients, as well as the hotel staff. Responsibilities include administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review. The Senior Event Planning Manager and EPM are also the on-site contacts and are responsible for the smooth execution of all events.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Leadership responsibility overseeing the Event Planning Manager.

Responsible for short- and long-term planning and the management of Event Sales and Event Planning.

Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans.

Maintain or exceed budgeted sales and profits in all event areas.

Develop and implement effective marketing plans for generating catering revenues.

Experience evaluating each piece of event business to ensure business meets the expectations of the guests.

Ability to put together creative and innovative menus based on collaboration with the Culinary.

Work closely with Chef on pricing specialty menus.

Train, supervise and work with event staff, in order to solicit and book banquet and event functions, as well as the planning, merchandising and execution of the functions.

Run the weekly Resume, EO, and Group Pick-up meetings.

Work closely with Director of Banquets and their team to create and ensure quality levels are being met on a daily basis as well as enhancing overall banquet set-ups.

Leads event team to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel Event sales objectives.

Administer all phases of the event department, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, servicing and administrative procedures.

Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures.

Senior Event Planning Manager Requirements and Qualifications

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.

Refined verbal and written communication skills.

A minimum of 3-5 years of hotel event planning or comparable experience preferred.

Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.

Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast-paced environment.

Prefer 6 years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program.

Strong leadership skills as they will be supervising the EPM.

Ability to multitask and highly Organized.

Proficiency in various event software.
