Position Summary Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director of Marketing and Engagement, the Digital Marketing Coordinator (Web & Email) is responsible for supporting the maintenance, coordination, and optimization of the YMCA of Greater San Francisco ’s website and email marketing program. This role blends content management, email campaign execution, visual storytelling, and technical upkeep to improve the digital experience for Y members and the community.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about digital communications and eager to grow technical and strategic skills in website, email, and visual content. The Digital Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director of Content & Social Media, Growth Marketing Manager, internal teams and external developers, playing a key support role in ensuring website performance, SEO discoverability, email engagement, and brand‑aligned content.

This is a hybrid role located in San Francisco, CA with a requirement of four (4) days onsite.

Job Responsibilities Website (60%)

Coordinate website updates, ensuring content accuracy, consistency, and alignment with YMCA branding.

Collaborate with external developers to track, test, and implement website fixes and feature enhancements.

Support technical maintenance, including plugin updates, backups, and basic troubleshooting.

Monitor website performance and support implementation of best practices to improve load times and site accessibility.

Assist in managing Google Analytics 4 and Search Console reporting; provide basic insights on performance trends.

Conduct regular content audits with UX Lead to remove outdated material and surface fresh stories, visuals, and calls to action.

Help develop and maintain a content publishing calendar in collaboration with UX Lead, branch and program leads.

Contribute to SEO improvements including meta descriptions, alt tags, and internal linking structure.

Provide WordPress CMS support to other team members, including training and documentation.

Manage day‑to‑day relationship with external development vendor.

Email Operations (30%)

Support execution of YMCA email campaigns and newsletters in Salesforce Account Engagement.

Assist with list management, segmentation, and data hygiene in collaboration with Growth Marketing Manager.

Track and report on email performance metrics (click‑thru rates, conversion, unsubscribes, deliverability).

Assist with maintaining brand consistency across email templates, signatures, and automated communications.

Digital Asset Management (10%)

Maintain MarCom’s digital photo library on both SharePoint and WordPress; create, curate, tag, and support seasonal content refreshes.

Help develop and maintain a photography calendar of new photography needs in collaboration with MarCom team members, branch and program leads.

Edit and publish high‑quality images for website and marketing use.

Minimum Qualifications

1–2 years of experience working with WordPress (or similar CMS).

ESP production experience with Salesforce Account Engagement/Pardot (or similar).

Understanding of basic website structure, content management, and user experience best practices.

Familiarity with SEO principles and Google Analytics or willingness to learn.

Experience working with visual content (e.g., image editing, photography coordination).

Strong writing/editing skills for digital and email content.

Desired Qualifications (Optional)

HTML/CSS knowledge (email and web development).

Experience with photo organization tools (Lightroom, Dropbox, etc.).

Prior experience working in nonprofit or community‑based organizations.

Familiarity with project management or ticketing tools (e.g., Zendesk, Salesforce Cases).

Work Environment & Physical Demands This position requires regular in‑office work (4 days/week) and the ability to work at a computer for extended periods. May occasionally require lifting materials up to 25 lbs for events or campaign support. Some evening or weekend work may be required to support special events or critical deadlines.

The Digital Marketing Coordinator (Web & Email) position offers a compensation range of $68,000 – $75,000 annually.

This rate is based on salary benchmarking for similar roles and is aligned with grant fund approvals and requirements for the position.
