Position Overview Coordinates on-site events, digital marketing, and contests to promote our four radio stations and our clients by managing staff, collaborating with sales and programming, and overseeing logistics such as setup, giveaways, and promotional asset maintenance. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, a flexible schedule, and the ability to represent the station positively to listeners, clients, and talent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Event Coordination:
Plan and oversee the execution and breakdown of promotional activities, such as station remotes, concerts, and community events, including managing equipment, signage, and tents.
Staff & Talent Supervision:
Lead and train the street team and activation specialists, coordinate with on-air talent for events, and ensure a positive customer experience for listeners and clients.
Campaign Management:
Develop and execute promotional campaigns, contests, and sponsorships that drive revenue for advertisers and increase listenership for the station. Manage and maintain the promotions calendar. Utilize existing software programs to inform staff and execute cross-departmental promotions.
Digital & Social Media:
Create and schedule social media posts, assist with station websites, and generate innovative ideas to drive online traffic during and after events.
Logistics & Operations:
Coordinate with engineers for event setups, manage inventory of promotional items, oversee maintenance of station vehicles, and support operations during weekends and events.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with the sales and programming departments to align promotional efforts with station goals.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Strong Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to interact with listeners, clients, and on-air talent in a positive and professional manner.
Organizational & Planning Skills:
For managing event logistics, staff, and a calendar of activities.
Flexibility:
Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Creativity:
Develop innovative ideas for contests, digital content, and event promotion.
Technical Aptitude:
Proficiency in using station promotional software and social media platforms.
Valid Driver’s License:
Required for driving station vehicles to events.
Desired Experience
1 – 3 years of experience in event management
A degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or a background in media, promotions, and marketing, is highly desirable.
