Full-time; Contract Schedule:
Three Overnight 12‑hour shifts per week
Job Description
Receive and coordinate incoming requests for rotor and fixed‑wing aircraft, including air ambulance, personnel recovery, and aircraft charter.
Maintain effective communications between aircraft, pilots, medical crews, customers, and partner agencies in a fast‑paced environment.
Facilitate transport requests, prioritize emergency and non‑emergency calls, and ensure accurate communication under pressure.
Coordinate with ground ambulances, hospitals, airport operators, law enforcement, fire departments, and rescue groups in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Monitor and track aircraft per FAA and vendor requirements to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Manage emergency communications and activate emergency response procedures as necessary.
Document and maintain accurate records, reports, and communications that may become part of a legal record.
Participate in mandatory training, safety drills, competency exercises, and staff meetings.
Position Requirements
Ability to remain calm, think clearly, and make sound decisions under high‑pressure situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and diplomatic manner.
Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency with computers and strong typing skills.
General knowledge of maps and navigation terminology.
Previous EMS, medical office, fire, police, or air medical communications experience preferred.
Knowledge of FAA Part 135 requirements and FCC communication regulations preferred.
Certification requirement: must obtain either Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) or Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification within 18 months of hire.
