Photographer/Videographer - Communications Specialist II (Casual) Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

Our mission is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site's Cold War legacy.

Annual salary range: $63,856.00 - $95,784.00 per year.

Location: North Las Vegas, NV.

This is a casual position working a maximum of 900 hours per calendar year.

Work schedule 4/10s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).

Responsibilities

Plans, develops, shoots and edits photos/videos, including developing concepts with assigned clients, writing scripts, coordinating photo/video shoots with facilities, shooting and editing photos/videos and coordinating approvals.

Collaborates with other members of the Communications team, as needed, on projects.

Independently creates concepts for video and photography products.

Performs photo/video production project activities.

Ensures photo and video products are consistently of high quality and meet the needs of the client and the NNSS.

Ensures project deadlines are met.

Demonstrates a technical understanding of video production and photography.

Maintains an understanding of requirements for publishing photo and video content to websites and social media platforms and posts approved videos to the NNSS YouTube page.

Helps maintain photo/video archive.

Provides support on other photo/video projects as they come up.

Adjusts schedule as needed to support work.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field related to the position or equivalent training and experience and at least 2 years relevant, progressively responsible experience.

Proficient knowledge of video production and photography.

Fundamental knowledge of studio and location production procedures.

Knowledge and understanding of NNSS programs, activities and organizations (must be able to learn).

Ability to organize, track, balance and prioritize multiple projects of various sizes.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with employees, managers, customers, vendors, etc.

Ability to work independently and with a team.

Ability to monitor and measure performance.

Ability to solve problems.

Demonstrated ability to produce, write and shoot videos.

Demonstrated ability to professionally edit video using all non-linear editing systems including Avid, Final Cut and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Ability to shoot and edit Virtual Reality (VR) desired; willingness to learn is a must.

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to professionally edit photographs using Adobe Creative Cloud.

Demonstrated knowledge of digital single‑lens reflex camera (digital SLR or DSLR) and mirrorless cameras, video camcorders, digital audio recorders and other devices used to capture audio/video/photo.

Physical ability to move and hold recording equipment for long periods in various environments.

Ability and willingness to travel, as needed.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Security Clearance and Background Checks MSTS requires a pre-employment drug test and background review. Applicants offered employment must pass a federal background investigation and, if required, obtain a DOE Q‑level security clearance. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
