Regional Product Specialist- LMR Dispatch Communications

Job Summary The Regional Product Specialist is a highly experienced and technically proficient subject‑matter expert responsible for supporting local and enterprise‑level deployments, integration and optimisation of mission‑critical communications systems, including Motorola Capacity Max trunked radio systems, Avtec Scout dispatch consoles, P25 infrastructure and a wide range of LMR equipment. This role requires deep hands‑on expertise, strong customer‑facing skills and the ability to lead and manage complex installations and troubleshooting efforts across multiple sites. The specialist mentors local teams on installation procedures and best practices, manages integration and optimisation of critical communication systems and drives consistency, quality and excellence in project execution across BearCom’s service footprint.
Key Responsibilities
Advise, mentor, lead and provide local support on best practices for installations, upgrades and maintenance of DMR and P25 critical communications systems, including RF sites, infrastructure and console systems.
Manage resources for deployment of complex systems.
Serve as the subject‑matter expert (SME) for LMR technologies, including analog, digital, P25 and trunked systems such as Capacity Max, Link Capacity Plus, Avtec Consoles and associated infrastructure.
Manage the integration and optimisation of critical communication systems.
Provide technical guidance and hands‑on training to field technicians and customers.
Collaborate on pre‑sales documentation and solution design with engineering and sales teams to ensure solutions meet customer requirements.
Conduct site surveys, advance system testing and develop acceptance and testing procedures when required.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, both remotely and on‑site to support and mentor local service teams.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, installation procedures, build books and as‑builts.
Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, manufacturer certifications and vendor updates.
Drive continuous improvement and quality across local service branches by mentoring, quality assurance checks and leveraging lessons learned, automation and process refinement.
Mentor and develop high‑performing service teams across BearCom’s regional service hubs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience with Motorola Capacity Max systems, Avtec Scout consoles, LMR infrastructure maintenance and installation.
Extensive knowledge of LMR communications equipment, including repeaters, base stations, subscriber units and RF infrastructure.
Strong understanding of IP networking, system integration and radio frequency (RF) principles.
High level of experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving issues with complex critical communication systems.
Proven experience in field service, system commissioning and customer support.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel regionally up to 40% of the time.
Certifications such as Motorola R56, Avtec Certified Technician, Capacity Max and other manufacturer certifications or equivalent are highly desirable.
Travel Requirement
Up to 40% travel to support service delivery teams, customer engagements and issue resolutions with critical communication systems.
Passport required.
