Description As an Interior Designer, your primary role will be to create beautiful and exciting spaces, then generate the complete documentation to build those spaces. You will work across the lifespan of a project – from initial conception to construction administration – delivering conceptual renderings, technical drawings, material & furniture selections, and coordinating with contractors. The role demands excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of construction practices.

Responsibilities

Lead or assist with projects from initial conception to completion.

Manage construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and site visits to confirm design intent and construction compliance.

Maintain knowledge of interior code compliance, building code, and accessible design standards.

Prepare and coordinate full construction document packages: finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, architectural floor plans, custom millwork designs, finish schedules, and fixture schedules.

Assist with interior space planning and project programming.

Prepare interior design presentations for the design development phase.

Consult with manufacturers, external consultants, product reps, furniture dealers, and fabricators.

Coordinate FF&E documentation including furniture plans, specifications, and material selections.

Serve as a resource on interior design issues and oversee the design work of others to ensure cohesive outcomes.

Meet client deadlines and project goals efficiently.

Lead meetings and design charrettes with owners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.

4+ years of experience in an interior designer role.

Proficiency in Revit for CAD.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

Knowledge of Lumion for rendering.

Strong design, organizational, and detail‑oriented skills.

Familiarity with furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.

Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.

Ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents for permitting and bidding.

Experience in commercial, multi‑family, or high‑end residential projects.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Royal Oak, MI.

Pay And Benefits Pay range: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour.
