We are seeking a
Fire Suppression Design Engineer
to join our growing team in Harrison, Ohio. This position can be filled at either the
Junior
or
Senior
level, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing
special hazard fire suppression systems
and
fire alarm systems , ensuring safety, compliance, and precision in every project.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop
life safety and asset protection systems
using AutoCAD and proprietary design software.
Ensure all system designs meet local, national, and manufacturer standards.
Conduct site surveys to confirm accurate system layout and installation.
Review and interpret customer-supplied project specifications and drawings.
Guide contractors on proper system installation and operation procedures.
Create project-specific operation and maintenance documentation.
Update and maintain accurate design drawings.
Support office staff with engineering-related tasks, including process improvement initiatives.
Participate in system inspections, maintenance, startups, and commissioning when needed.
Attend manufacturer and professional training sessions to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.
Qualifications
Previous experience in the
Fire Protection industry
is required.
Proven experience as a
Design Engineer
in fire suppression and fire alarm systems.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD 2D drafting
and familiarity with
3D design software .
Strong understanding of
Microsoft Office applications .
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
Eagerness to learn and stay current with industry codes and standards.
Willingness to pursue and obtain
NICET Certification .
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
NICET Certification (any level).
Important Note
This position focuses on
special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm design . Candidates with only
sprinkler (water) system design experience
will not be a match for this role.
