About the Role 60 Minutes, television’s premier weekly newsmagazine, is seeking an accomplished Producer to work with one of the broadcast’s correspondents! The Producer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and producing original stories including investigative, feature, and newsmaker pieces that uphold a long tradition of journalistic excellence. This role calls for a journalist with excellent reporting, writing, and production skills, editorial integrity, and the ability to bring complex pieces to life with depth, accuracy, and clarity.

Responsibilities

Conceive, research, and produce original stories from pitch through broadcast

Develop story ideas that reveal new information, challenge assumptions, or provide fresh perspective

Identify compelling subjects, voices, and visual approaches that enhance storytelling and impact

Work closely with correspondents, editors, and producers to ensure each story meets 60 Minutes’ editorial, ethical, and legal standards

Coordinate field production including logistics, interviews, and on location shoots as well as post production scripting and editing

Manage associate producers, broadcast associates, and camera crews to ensure collaboration, precision, and quality execution

Collaborate with 60 Minutes digital teams to adapt and extend pieces for digital and social platforms

Exercise sound editorial judgment and adaptability under tight deadlines and in changing news environments

Travel as assignments require, including weekends or extended periods when necessary

Qualifications

Minimum five years of experience producing enterprise or investigative journalism for broadcast or cable news

Deep experience in investigative and long form storytelling that blends accuracy, originality, and narrative depth

Outstanding writing, editorial development, and production skills

Proven ability to manage multiple stories at once and deliver under intense deadlines

Sharp editorial judgment, creativity, and adaptability in rapidly changing news situations

Experience leading production teams from first pitch through final edit

Skilled in extending broadcast journalism across digital and social platforms

Exercises discretion, professionalism, and editorial integrity in all aspects of production

Collaborative approach that cultivates strong editorial and production partnerships

Compensation & Benefits Hiring Salary Range: $175,000.00 - 240,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
