About Midwest Cards At Midwest Cards, we believe collecting isn’t just a hobby, it’s a story. From the thrill of ripping a pack to the nostalgia of a grail card, every piece tells a tale. We’re one of the fastest-growing names in the hobby, building a trusted brand powered by transparency, authenticity, and our deep love for the game.
We're looking for a Creative Lead with a strong videography and organic social media background. This includes having a consumer-focused mindset; someone who can not only create content, but craft compelling, high-performing creative narratives that bring Midwest Cards to life across Reels, Shorts, and Long-Form Video productions.
Role Overview This role is designed for a hands‑on creative who lives and breathes both short‑form and long‑form video, as well as profitable organic social media marketing. You'll lead the charge in capturing, editing, and publishing content that showcases our products, team, community, and culture. From daily pack rips to trend‑jacking videos and storytelling pieces about rare pulls, you're here to make Midwest Cards stand out in the scroll.
Key Responsibilities: Creative Leadership & Creation
Create high-impact, short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook using CapCut, InShot, or similar mobile-friendly video tools.
Film and edit content including pack rips, card showcases, customer reactions, hobby trends, events, and team moments.
Stay on top of social trends —knowing when (and how) to jump in with a hobby twist.
Develop organic social media calendars with the social team, have a strategy-first mindset, and take lead on creative direction.
Develop multiple short-form videos weekly, static posts, and stories across TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, as well as long-form videos monthly for YouTube, ads, commercials, and other marketing needs.
Creative Storytelling
Build video narratives that highlight our company values, collector journeys, behind-the-scenes stories, and special card pulls.
Capture authentic moments that humanize the Midwest Cards brand—from our warehouse team to our breakers to our customers.
Social Media Management
Own the posting schedule and content calendar for all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube Shorts).
Write engaging captions, select optimal hashtags, and strategize post timing for max reach and resonance.
Collaborate with the marketing team on larger brand campaigns and seasonal drops.
Community Engagement
Engage with followers in comments and DMs with a tone that’s sharp, positive, and hobby-savvy.
Spotlight top customers, collectors, and community stories in creative and respectful ways.
Performance Tracking
Monitor and analyze video engagement and performance metrics to continuously improve content output.
Test new formats, hooks, and content types, always optimizing for scroll-stopping quality.
What We’re Looking For
2–4 years experience in social media content creation with a focus on video editing for mobile platforms.
Creative leadership experience (either freelance or corporate).
Strong experience using CapCut, InShot, or comparable tools to create professional-level short-form videos.
A creative eye for filming, editing, transitions, sound, and pacing.
Experience in photography and photo editing (preferred, but not required).
Strong leadership skills with minimum supervision.
Excellent writing and storytelling skills for captions and narrative framing.
Experience managing social channels, calendars, and audience engagement.
Experience using Sprout Social, or a similar social project management tool.
Experience using Wrike, or a similar project management tool.
Bonus Skills
Light graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe Express).
Familiarity with livestream platforms (e.g., Whatnot, Fanatics Live).
Passion for sports, collecting, or the trading card world.
