Job Posting: Certified Electrician for Telecommunications Projects
Location: Columbus, OH (work area mainly in Northern Ohio)
OFG a leading telecommunications North Central Region of the US, is seeking a skilled Certified Electrician to join our team for telecommunications projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical installations for telecommunications equipment, including power plant, batteries, and backup systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local safety codes.
Collaborate with project managers and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Conduct testing and diagnostics on power systems to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
Certification: Valid Journeyman Electrician certification or Ohio Electrical Contractor License (preferred).
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an electrician, with at least 1 year in telecommunications or low‑voltage systems.
Skills: Proficiency in fiber optic cabling, Cat5/Cat6 wiring, and telecommunications equipment installation. Knowledge of PLCs and high‑voltage systems is a plus.
Training: Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship or equivalent training program preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license; OSHA 10 or higher certification preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, and perform tasks in confined spaces.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $72,000 gross annual salary
Company‑provided tools, vehicle for job sites, meals allowance according to company policies.
