WABC is looking for an experienced staff general assignment reporter with the ability to authentically engage and connect with our audience. The ideal candidate must be a dynamic and compelling journalist, communicator, and storyteller with a passion for uncovering and reporting the facts, and with integrity above all else. This team member will work collaboratively with producers, assignment editors and newsroom leaders. The applicant must demonstrate a full understanding of the powerful voice and responsibility broadcasters have to, and with, the communities we serve. This team member will report for all platforms and dayparts, including early mornings, nights, and weekends. This is a full-time staff position. The position is covered under the SAG-AFTRA- WABC-TV Collective Bargaining Agreement. This role is considered on-site, which means the employee will work from a company-designated location on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities & Duties On-air performance Researching, writing, and reporting Basic Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience reporting in a top 20 market Exceptional reporting, writing, and interviewing skills Must know how to source and generate impactful enterprise leads, and create impactful content utilizing the latest investigative tools, including data journalism. Must be tenacious in your ability to uncover stories through investigation and research Be an expert in telling high-impact stories and in breaking news coverage, and demonstrate that ability in the field Report, write, capture visual content, edit, and produce stories for multiple platforms on deadline, such as owned and distributed digital, streaming, and social platforms Active in using social media for promotion and news gathering Demonstrated ability to move the audience between linear and digital platforms A collaborative self-starter Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality Strong commitment to the community, expected to represent the station and participate in various community events Must be open to working early mornings, nights, and weekends Preferred Qualifications Fluency in a second language Required Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience The hiring range for this SAG-AFTRA position in New York is $190,000 to $230,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
