ORE - Shift 2 ($.55) (United States of America - Oregon)

OVERVIEW
The Visual Quality Inspector - Casting plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and precision of our produced castings. In this role, you will be responsible for performing detailed visual and dimensional inspections of castings using a variety of tools and methods, contributing to our commitment to excellence in medical implants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of castings following the provided technical documentation using appropriate tools, such as hand grinding equipment and measuring instruments.
  • Identify discrepancies and confirm them using calipers, pin gauges, and other necessary measuring instruments.
  • Perform rework on discrepancies when permitted, thoroughly document the process, and route them to salvage operations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with department leads to review rework and scrap castings.
  • Identify, document, and segregate scrap castings that do not meet specifications after rework.
  • Maintain accurate records through process routing cards, salvage routers, scrap tags, and dimensional reports.
  • Assist in training new personnel as directed by the department supervisor or lead.
  • Safely transport products within the facility using carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Keep your workspace, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Report any defective materials, faulty equipment, or unusual conditions promptly to your supervisor.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using tools such as calipers and pin gauges as required.
  • Engage in weekly housekeeping activities according to the 5S schedule.
  • Follow work orders to execute operations on various parts and products.
  • Adapt to different operations based on manufacturing needs.
  • Reinforce safety practices and ensure compliance among team members.
  • Contribute to quality and compliance efforts by adhering to all procedures and processes related to the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Complete all required training to excel in your role.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

EXPERIENCE

  • Manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience (required)
  • Operations experience (preferred)
