Our customers are culture-makers, creators, and early adopters who refuse to settle for the status quo in beauty. We're a small, fast-moving team in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and we need someone senior who can own our visual storytelling end-to-end.

We're hiring a Community Manager at The Renatural.

The Role

This is a full-time Community Manager position. You are the voice of The Renatural in every comment, DM, and community conversation. You own this channel.

This isn't just about responding to comments. It's about proactive community building. We need someone who understands luxury beauty audiences, can write in our brand voice naturally, and has the judgment to handle everything from celebrity stylist inquiries to customer service issues with equal professionalism.

You'll work closely with our Content Strategist on social strategy, but you own the day-to-day engagement, growth, platform recommendations, and relationships that make our community feel seen, heard, and valued.

What You'll Do

  • Own daily engagement across all social platforms (currently Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, LinkedIn): respond to DMs, comments, and mentions with speed and brand consistency
  • Identify new platform opportunities and make recommendations: if there's a new platform we should be on or communities we're missing, you're bringing that to the table
  • Handle customer service as a brand representative: product questions, concerns, feedback
  • Proactively find and engage in relevant beauty/wig conversations across platforms
  • Write captions and collaborate with Content Strategist on posting schedule and social strategy
  • Monitor competitor activity and identify engagement opportunities
  • Track engagement metrics, community sentiment, and optimize approach based on what's driving results
  • Build relationships with high-value followers: celebrity stylists, influencers, industry insiders

Who You Are

  • Experience in community management, social media, or digital marketing, ideally in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle
  • High-end beauty industry fluency: you understand the audience and how luxury brands communicate
  • Customer service mindset with professional polish
  • You can toggle between platforms (Instagram editorial tone vs. TikTok casual vs. Reddit informative)
  • Autonomous operator who doesn't need hand-holding but knows when to escalate
  • You're proactive, not reactive: you see opportunities to engage before they're obvious, and you bring new platform ideas to leadership
  • Strong writer who can craft captions, responses, and community content quickly and on-brand
  • You take ownership: this is your channel to grow, optimize, and evolve
  • Beauty and lifestyle background preferred. Journalism background a plus. Paid social ads experience a plus.

The Hiring Process

We're accepting applications through December 1st and scheduling interviews immediately.

Here's what to expect:

Round 1: Video Interview with Director of Brand Marketing (December 1-5) Initial conversation to discuss your experience, approach to community building, and how you think about brand voice and engagement.

Round 2: In-Person Interview with Brand Marketing (December 8-12) Deeper dive into your process, how you handle customer service, and how you'd approach growing The Renatural's community.

Round 3: In-Person Interview with CEO and Founder (December 8-12) Meet our leadership team, understand the vision for the brand, and discuss how this role fits into our growth trajectory.

Round 4: Paid Challenge (December 9-16) Finalists only. This is required to be considered for the role.

You'll complete a 48-hour paid challenge

Part 1: Reddit/Forum Research

  • Identify 5 high-value conversations in wig/beauty communities where The Renatural should engage
  • Draft responses for each
  • Brief rationale on why each opportunity matters

Part 2: Caption + Response Writing

  • Write captions for 2-3 posts (we provide images/context)
  • Respond to mock DM thread: product question, complaint, and compliment
  • Show brand voice consistency across different scenarios

This reveals your brand alignment, writing quality, customer service approach, strategic thinking, and efficiency.

Offer Extended: Week of December 29

We're moving fast because we need someone exceptional in this role by January 2025.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $110,000-$130,000 USD + performance-based bonus
