Essential Functions
- Install and uninstall AV products.
- Configure endpoints and infrastructure.
- Perform room audits to ensure technology operates at optimum level.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment and rooms.
- Identify defective or failed equipment and provide solutions.
- Complete post‑installation assessments and user acceptance testing.
- Install software upgrades.
- Communicate with management about assignments and progress.
- Report and update on project status.
- Travel to customer sites as required.
- Design, plan, and install AV systems.
- Maintain inventory of AV devices and materials.
- Test and verify functionality of newly installed AV systems.
- Perform AV system maintenance and repair as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalence.
- No experience required; limited experience acceptable.
- Basic hand and power tool proficiency.
- Understanding of safety practices and use of appropriate safety measures.
- Punctuality and reliable daily attendance.
- Willingness to ask questions and learn new skills.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Current and valid U.S. driver’s license.
- 0 years of experience in a similar position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Terminate and test category cable and fiber optic cable.
- Basic low‑voltage principles (ohm’s law, load calculations, metering).
- Read and comprehend blueprints, line diagrams, and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with customer representatives in the field.
- Mentor junior field technicians and work closely with lead technicians, project managers, and team members to deliver excellence within budget.
Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee spends more than two‑thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, handling or using hands and arms, and reaching. Approximately one‑third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.
Work Environment
The role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, such as outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
