Watershed Strategy is a full‑service digital advertising and strategic communications firm serving Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations. We are seeking a Senior Creative Strategist to serve as a critical, senior member of our creative team and help produce powerful digital ads in the 2026 election cycle.
In the Senior Creative Strategist role, we are looking for someone with sharp political instincts and a passion for electing Democrats and advancing progressive causes. You are an exceptional writer with experience drafting unique and compelling video scripts. You know the steps of post‑production and have the ability to work with editors and designers to turn great scripts into ads that truly move voters. You are highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects at once under pressure. And you are passionate about fostering a positive, collaborative, and creative environment for our team.

Job Responsibilities
- Write unique and visually compelling persuasion and mobilization ads for digital placements, including 30 seconds, 15 seconds, and 6 seconds.
- Work closely with the Managing Director to manage graphic designers, video editors, and motion graphics artists to create exceptional digital ads, providing clear creative direction and timely feedback to in‑house and contract team members.
- Maintain production documents – including budget trackers and timelines – and help optimize processes.
- Play a key role in our creative brainstorm process which translates campaign research and polling into compelling creative concepts for multiple lengths and formats.
- Help shepherd scripts and ads through approvals processes in a timely manner.
- Collaborate on pre‑production such as shot lists and storyboarding for shoots.
- QA videos, graphics, scripts, and other creative assets for grammar, punctuation, accuracy of edit completion, and removal of watermarks from stock assets.
- Manage junior staff as team grows and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Exceptional project and time management abilities within a fast‑paced environment.
- 3+ years of experience writing and producing political creative at agencies, or on campaigns.
- Deep understanding of the steps of video post‑production.
- Demonstrated skill in writing scripts for multiple digital formats.
- Demonstrated political judgment and an understanding of campaign structure and dynamics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for QA, timeline tracking, and production coordination.
- Experience with video shoots and on‑set production is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote work setting – you will be working cross‑functionally with several other members of the team and will need to communicate clearly and effectively to be successful.
- Reports to: Managing Director
- Employee Status: This is a cycle role through December 2026 with the possibility of extension.
- Salary: $70,000–80,000 commensurate with experience.
