Media Prep Technician

Join NBC EC Ingest team spanning Stamford CT and Centennial CO, a group of innovative technicians that oversee ingest, transcode and distribution of NBCUniversal content. In this role you will be part of a 24x7 highly motivated team that supports media content across all NBCUniversal distribution outlets.

Responsibilities

  • High‑resolution quality control of NBCU long‑form content, ensuring all technical aspects meet FCC/NBCU specifications.
  • Baseband/linear ingest of NBCU content across all networks for on‑air, VOD and/or Peacock distribution.
  • Perform edit and prep functions within an NLE platform to produce and distribute content.
  • Work in various Media Asset Management (MAM) systems with a strong understanding of video and audio specifications.
  • Submit content into the transcoding stack to meet client requirements.
  • Reconcile executed work orders to ensure business needs are met.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and follow company rules and policies.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in a broadcast, post‑production or digital media prep environment.
  • Prior experience working with digital media file types such as QuickTime, MXF, MPEG, MP4, etc.
  • BA/BS in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge of digital formats, codecs and industry‑standard tools.
  • Experience with non‑linear editing systems (Premiere, Avid, Final Cut Pro).
  • Ability to multitask, balance priorities and work under pressure.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and adapt to new workflows.
  • Flexible schedule including overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and at least 18 years old.
