Purpose
The User Experience Designer will be proficient in UX interaction design and visual design. They will have knowledge in User research and practical experience conducting it with end users. The individual will collaborate with Product Management, End users, Business stakeholders and Engineering teams to ensure that there is clear understanding of the expected user experience. They will create scalable design solutions for the product working independently, or under the guidance of senior member of UX team where required. The User Experience Designer will apply user-centered design processes and methodology to create optimal user experiences. They will conceptualize innovative solutions, create user experience specifications, workflows, mockups etc to meet or exceed the needs of end users and stakeholders. As a valued member of the UX team, the individual will use their skills and insights in a collaborative, agile environment to deliver great experiences across products/platforms.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Essential Functions:
- Visual Design: create high fidelity mockups, prototypes/concept design, maintain and improve design system following brand guidelines. Generate UI specification for developers. QA to ensure the final product conforms design.
- Interaction Design: assist Senior Designer on card sorting activities, conceptualize navigation schemas, search schema & taxonomies, identify user scenarios, create sitemap, task flows, user flows and wireframes.
- UX Research: assist Senior Designer on defining UX research strategy, help stakeholder interviews and analyze reports, conduct competitive analysis and heuristic evaluation, develop personas, empathy maps and user journey maps, conduct quantitative & qualitative user research and compile findings.
- UX Strategy & Planning: assist Senior Designer on defining UX strategy & roadmap, maintain UX governance, process & standard, maintain product UX artifacts, assist on usability testing and report, help UX measurement report.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Psychology, Graphic Design, Computer Science or other related field OR, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
Licenses/Certifications Preferred: Certified User Experience Professional (CUEP).
Experience: 3 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of markup language HTML/CSS.
- Basic knowledge of Lean UX and Agile environments.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Experience in tools like Adobe XD, Axure, Balsamiq, Invision, UXPin, InDesign, Sketch.
- Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.
Salary Range: $75,600 - $150,150
