Web Developer (Hybrid)

Location: Richmond, VA

GSK Solutions Inc. is seeking a front‑end developer with strong proficiency in Angular or React and back‑end experience in Java. The developer will collaborate closely with Business System Analysts, IT teams, and testing staff to ensure the successful implementation of system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy web applications.
• Implement new features and enhancements.
• Conduct unit testing to ensure code quality.
• Review and contribute to technical designs.
• Ensure applications meet all functional specifications and performance requirements.

Scope of Work

Support Virginia Tax's web application portfolio, which includes modern and older legacy systems, focusing on modifying, enhancing, and maintaining these existing applications while managing a crucial transition to or integration with a new system. Responsibilities include implementing feature requests, bug fixes, and performance improvements across all systems, leveraging Angular for front‑end modifications and REST API (Java) expertise for back‑end service integration. A significant portion of the work is dedicated to analyzing and safely modifying existing legacy codebases, designing and developing services to seamlessly integrate the existing and legacy applications with the new target system. The role requires developing robust unit tests and collaborating closely with BSAs and QA teams to ensure all application changes and new integrations adhere to technical specifications and business needs, delivering stable, secure, high‑quality updates across the entire application landscape.

Required/Desired Skills & Experience

• Angular/React: 5+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications.
• API Development: 5+ years building and consuming RESTful APIs (or equivalent in Java/Spring).
• SQL Development: 5+ years writing complex queries and performing basic query optimization.
• Full Development Lifecycle: 5+ years with SDLC and modern dev methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
• Version Control: 5+ years proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
• Problem‑Solving: 5+ years demonstrating excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills across the stack.
• Prior Tax or Financial Technology Experience: Highly desired (2+ years).
