Manager, Architectural Design Join Royal Caribbean Group as a Manager, Architectural Design and lead all aspects of architecture, design and construction for new‑build, revitalisation and refurbishment projects.

Position Summary / Job Purpose The Manager, Architectural Design brings leadership and expertise to various new‑build, revitalisation and refurbishment projects. In collaboration with senior design leadership, you will oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and the highest quality standards. You will guide a team of architects and designers, act as a conduit of information between the corporation, brand, and external architecture and design firms, review drawings‑proposals, recommend decisions and innovations, and ensure the design team is prepared for key start‑ups and milestones.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure design intent is clear and credible, conveying the voice of the Executive Steering Committee and Brand consistently to all workstreams.

Foster an innovative, forward‑thinking, proactive, collaborative environment, serving as a role model that brings all disciplines together and promotes learning and growth.

Embrace design guidelines, CADD and drawing standards, and contract references, leading their fulfilment in design drawings and specifications, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

Develop team resources (people, processes, tools) for large‑scale projects, independently plan, manage, guide design, and oversee projects while coordinating best practices between external architectural, interior design and worldwide consultancy firms.

Uphold SQM practices throughout all design phases, proactively creating new methods and processes to improve design delivery.

Initiate and regularly attend meetings with sponsors as an active participant, obtaining design approvals.

Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the Newbuilding department.

Analyse and compare various ships and areas such as public vs. crew areas, outdoor decks vs. enclosed spaces, dining vs. entertainment spaces, etc., deriving observations, conclusions and recommendations.
