AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services. The Events Marketing Manager, ASEAN for Amazon Web Services (AWS) is an analytical and creative independent leader who is capable of developing and executing large scale marketing events to support the ASEAN business to achieve their goals through the education of customers and partners, and the creation of pipeline. This individual independently leads workstreams within a large-scale flagship event project; AWS Summit ASEAN series, alongside a project team including; but not limited to - Sponsorship team, Startup Marketing, Account Based Marketing, Partner Marketing, Developer Relations and Global Marketing. Note: This is a 8-months maternity full time contract role. Key job responsibilities
Define, develop, and execute the regional flagship event, AWS Summit in partnership with ASEAN Head of Events. This will include defining the event theme and program in line with the business objectives, project managing the development of demand generation and content plans, working with stakeholders and agencies to bring our products and services to life in the expo environment, working with stakeholders to create and drive compelling sponsorship opportunities, and overseeing the delivery of a world class event experience from registration through to post-event follow-up. Ensure global consistency in event messaging, content guidelines. Lead end-to-end strategy of the event experience and execution of AWS internal events. Demand generation – outreach to existing customers coupled with net-new contact acquisition through paid media channels. Work in close partnership with appointed agencies and internal sales teams, managing budgets, timelines, optimisations and project deliverables. Partner with global cross‑functional teams to build comprehensive roadmaps for workstream strategies, timelines, and expectations. Deliver strategic plans, updates, and results to the highest levels of leadership. Design innovative ways to connect employees across in‑person, hybrid and virtual audiences. Align multiple stakeholders on program objectives through strategic relationship building and effective communication. Develop scalable frameworks to standardize execution and enable program expansion. Establish and track KPIs, analyse data to drive continuous improvement and optimise future programs. Dive deep data post‑event to find insights, analyse performance, identify successes and failures to report back to the business and inform plan for future events. Implement risk management and contingency plans. Navigate ambiguity with clear decision‑making while maintaining program momentum. Mentor workstream leads and build trusted relationships across all organisational levels. Deliver creative approaches to improve customer experience at events. Travel up to 15% of the time.
