Digital Communications Specialist (Temp)
Position Overview: Georgia State Law is a dynamic urban‑centered law school in Atlanta with approximately 650 full‑time and part‑time law students. We are looking to hire a part‑time Digital Communications Specialist who will help elevate the College of Law’s profile as a national leader in legal education.
Responsibilities
Strategically manage the College of Law’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram).
Develop newsletter content and write feature stories for the College of Law website and the annual digital magazine.
Assist the team with managing project requests from departments, centers, clinics, and other units.
Monitor analytics for the social media channels, use results to inform data‑driven decisions, and create monthly analytics reports.
Use the latest online tools to enhance social media content, drive traffic, and raise awareness of the College of Law brand.
Plan, implement, and monitor a digital media strategy to increase brand awareness and improve marketing efforts.
Ensure all digital components are branded properly and in line with the College of Law brand guidelines and the university style guide.
Write and edit content for social media channels and the College of Law website.
Support internal and external communications initiatives to improve connections with the public, stakeholders, and the College of Law community.
Maintain an archive system for Law Communication projects and collaborate with the director and assistant director to design, develop, and publish the annual College of Law magazine.
Support Law Communications with project management and general assignments, ensuring editorial and graphic identity meet guidelines.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Minimum four years of experience in journalism, communications, or marketing.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, New Media, or Journalism.
Experience managing professional social media channels, writing content with minimal errors, and using a social media scheduling tool.
Experience capturing and editing images and video content is a plus but not required.
