Photography Darkroom Assistant for the Castleton campus.
Responsibilities
Check film and print chemistry THREE TIMES PER WEEK.
Mix new chemistry as required.
Document DATE & TIME of each new mixing, particularly developer on paper/whiteboard.
Dispose of all SPENT chemicals into designated retention/reclamation containers.
Monitor & inform Jonathan Taylor & Oliver Schemm when designated retention/reclamation containers are full or need attention.
Sponge down both darkroom sink and other areas to eliminate all white FIX.
ANNOUNCE and be AVAILABLE for regular DARKROOM HELP sessions.
Keep darkroom clean and organized. Report ALL student sloppiness & dereliction to Jonathan Taylor.
Check ENLARGER operation on a weekly basis.
Inspect, maintain, and replace all darkroom signage and systems of organization.
Qualifications
Prior Experience in Darkroom Photography
Reliability (to show up and get the job done)
Communication (to be available & in-touch & give advance notice)
Technical Ability (to figure out gadgets & chemistry & fix things)
