ABOUT SPEEDBOAT
SPEEDBOAT is a Hollywood-based atelier established in 2019. At the heart of our practice is an authentic, unmediated connection to history, theory, labor, and materiality, and the broader context of the city.
Bootstrapped from the start, we maintain architecture, design, and construction divisions, managing residential, commercial, and cultural projects in Los Angeles and beyond. We combine the best of a boutique firm and a corporate company—recognized by our peers as one of the most organized and structured studios in our class. We maintain the highest standards for our clients and for each other. Mentorship and upward mobility are core to our practice, and our culture emphasizes direct feedback, sustained professional growth, and creating an environment where colleagues learn from one another and thrive.
THE ROLE This is a hands-on position for a versatile professional who is eager to draft, get out into the field, and contribute to the construction side of our practice. You will work alongside experienced senior staff with support and mentorship from day one, while also taking ownership of tasks and developing your ability to work independently. This role offers a foundational experience with clear pathways for development. You should be ready to work and learn, and have some fun along the way.
We have wonderful clients with great projects in Altadena, Pasadena, Silver Lake, and beyond. We seek individuals interested in designing for permanence, bringing curiosity and optimism to your work, with the spirit of a true builder—as we are close to construction, to the earth, the light, the air.
