JOB DESCRIPTION
The
Interiors Project Manager
plays a pivotal role in driving project success, overseeing the end‑to‑end project process, and coordinating the design team's efforts. Additionally, this key position is responsible for mentoring and developing the skills of Junior Designers and Interior Designers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth within the team. RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for overseeing the interior design phases and deliverables, establish project direction and work within project budgets and schedules of multiple projects. Under minimal supervision manage multiple projects and a team of Interior Designers and Junior Designers; delegate and assign tasks appropriately. Collaborate with project leads to create initial project set‑up (budget). Monitor the project interior design budget, recommend, and implement any necessary adjustments. Responsible for managing resources within the project and meeting budgets and programs. Lead a team of professionals and technically competent people of various skill levels and is responsible for team performance of services in accordance with the Client Agreement. Analyze and determine Client programs and deliver services in accordance with the program and regularly update the program and advise team. Manage Client expectations, coordinate team and consultant communications. Participate with the sales and design teams in the development of proposals, presentations and project designs. Manage activities of direct reports engaged in preparing interior drawings and specifications. Oversee the preparation of documents to ensure compliance with design intent deliverables per the Client Agreement. Oversee design team on major design decisions, involving spatial and aesthetic elements. Ensure the project team meets projected milestones. Follow projects through approvals and oversee periodic on‑site observations of work during installation of interior finishes and materials. Exercise professional judgment in areas of contractual liability. Be confident and capable of giving presentations to clients, consultants or other external parties as required. Participate in company promotional/marketing activities including client database, business development, trade shows where required. Assist with training programs to enhance understanding of our core markets. Build and mentor interior design staff. REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent, from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial interiors, preferably in the core markets. Motivated team player with high level of initiative and self‑motivation. Creativity and skills in design, with a focus on multi‑family and hospitality interiors. Excellent knowledge and experience in the projects/property industry sector. Excellent leadership and group communication skills. Attention to detail in all elements of interior design, including administration. Strong computer literacy (particularly experience in CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and SketchUp, Revit a plus). Motivated team player with excellent level of initiative and self‑motivation. Personal commitment to professional development outside of company initiatives.
