Lead UX Designer, Salesforce Automation Position Overview

We’re hiring a Lead UX Designer to define and drive the end‑to‑end product experience for Salesforce Automation and workflow experiences. The role combines strategic product thinking, UX expertise, and design systems knowledge to create scalable, consistent automation experiences that deliver significant business value.

Key Responsibilities

Define the product experience vision and design direction for key automation features and user workflows.

Manage the design process from discovery and ideation through launch and iteration.

Collaborate directly with Product Managers and Engineers to translate business goals and customer needs into concrete, actionable product requirements.

Create thoughtful, well‑crafted solutions that simplify platform complexity and deliver measurable user and business outcomes.

Design Excellence & System Evolution

Lead the creation of scalable user experience designs that deliver high quality across teams and initiatives.

Evolve the Automation design system in Figma, including components, patterns, and workflow‑specific best practices.

Work closely with front‑end engineers to ensure design quality and consistency in production.

Build coherence and consistency across automation experiences while maintaining design system governance.

Cross‑Functional Partnership & Communication

Act as a bridge connecting design, product, engineering, and automation platform teams.

Proactively scope, plan, and prioritize work across projects using shared standards and stakeholder input.

Collaborate with user research teams to deliver user‑driven research initiatives to validate design decisions.

Define and align user experience with business goals by structuring ambiguous efforts and measuring progress.

Leadership & Influence

Mentor design team members on product thinking, design systems, and best practices.

Present ideas and perspectives that align stakeholders, build trust, and secure cross‑functional agreement.

Craft compelling narratives that connect strategy, context, and user needs to influence direction and foster momentum.

Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design, encouraging prioritization of accessible features.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of relevant design experience, with a demonstrated track record in product strategy and systems governance.

Experience leading design strategy for complex, platform‑level products.

Significant practical experience with design systems creation, implementation, and governance.

Essential Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component creation, auto‑layout, variants, and design token management.

Familiarity with front‑end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript fundamentals) to collaborate effectively with engineering partners.

Experience with design system governance, documentation tools, and version control.

Additional Experience

Comprehensive understanding of user‑centered design methods and best practices.

A portfolio demonstrating the definition and launch of successful product features that delivered measurable outcomes.

Demonstrated leadership behaviors that inspire teams and build trust with stakeholders.

Strong communication and active listening skills.

Experience using analytics and user research to inform design decisions.

Compensation

Washington: $184,000 – $253,000. California: $200,800 – $276,100.
