Responsibilities

Utilize and expand your design skills in a multi‑disciplined team environment with Electrical and Structural designers and engineers.

Apply computer-aided drafting/design skills and receive hands‑on training in 3D design software such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation.

Develop transmission line plans, profile drawings, hardware details, material lists, and grounding details.

Create master sketches to scale showing the relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.

Confer directly with engineering staff to interpret inputs from engineering specifications, weight and volume calculations, and stress factors.

Accompany and assist project team members on walk‑downs at client facilities to gather information for your design project.

Interface with vendors and construction contractors and explain drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made.

Work Schedule This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in‑office work 3 days per week.

Essential Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 1+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.

Proficient in AutoCAD.

3+ years of experience in design/drafting of Transmission Lines.

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, drawings, and models.

Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design.

Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.

Ability to multi‑task across projects.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Valued but Not Required Skills

Experience with MicroStation, PLS‑CADD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or GIS software.

Compensation Range $54,420.00 – $78,410.00
