Position’s Contributions to Work Group
You will champion and oversee a wide range of content activities including creating and reviewing product content (title, short and long descriptions), managing the product imagery, part taxonomy management and alignment, pulling reports, creating digestible graphs/charts and working closely with stakeholders to analyze content needs.
In addition, you will work with translated content by supporting linguistic QA workflows to ensure translation accuracy and brand consistency, and assist with data QA during post-processing of large translation files to enable seamless system integration.
The Content Editor will need to be very organized and highly attentive to details with strong communications skills.
In this position, you will provide tactical day-to-day management of the category taxonomy and align the taxonomy directly to the strategic goals of the website.
You will work with product SMEs to clean up and standardize how products are categorized in the most user-first way on Parts.Cat.Com.
The Content Editor will be someone who wants to solve content challenges and can see the big picture for what the future can and should be, while being able to act upon that vision and drive the work forward today.
We are seeking a strategic thinker who loves to pull together disparate thoughts, ideas, and activities and bring them together to provide an ideal solution.
Typical task breakdown
Provide ongoing content support related to content updating, analyzing, and translating. Deliverables are typically Excel sheets and graphs, PowerPoint decks, and completed file imports.
Be an expert in Excel, able to pull reports, manipulate data and create easily digestible graphs and charts.
Write and review SEO-optimized content for Parts.Cat.Com to support business needs; edit content as required.
Work with product groups to keep Parts.Cat.Com part taxonomy up-to-date. You will take in feedback from product groups and create the best user-experience.
Possess project management experience – own projects from conception to completion with keen attention to detail and organization.
Apply ethical SEO best practices when performing tasks such as keyword research, competitive analysis, meta tag creation, and social media optimization.
Work closely with the SEO manager to help optimize product titles and descriptions.
Have a deep understanding of content development and collaborate closely with the development team.
Be familiar with translation and localization processes, including translation technology and linguistic assets such as term bases and translation memories.
Work cross-functionally with internal business partners to understand content needs.
Interaction with team
4 direct reports plus this new role; working with content manager, localization manager and content specialist.
Education & Experience Required
Years of experience: 5-7 years experience
Required Technical Skills (Required)
3-5 years of experience writing web or technical content
Experience using keyword research tools to extract insights and actionable data
Experience managing a website taxonomy
Experience managing and processing large-scale text data files for quality assurance and system integration
SEO experience
Experience with a PIM
Ideally has experience in construction or a related field
Excel and presentation skills
Experience as a digital marketing copywriter or similar content producer
Soft Skills (Required)
Desire to continually learn, research, and evolve based on changing SEO strategies and various behaviors of online search engines while considering global differences
Excellent writing and editing skills
Choppy Tenure/ consistent job hopping.
